PILATES is a mindful body conditioning exercise routine and is low impact. It aims to improve spinal mobility, increase general flexibility and strengthen the deep muscles of the spine and abdomen. This ultimately helps improve core stability, body awareness and posture.

Pilates focuses on stretching, strengthening and breathing and the benefits of it include a strong core, improved endurance, better posture, improved balance and it also helps to reduce stress and tension. It is suitable for all ages and fitness levels and can help prevent further injuries and improve performance. It also compliments all other forms of exercise.

Kirsten has completed all her Pilates training with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) which means the exercises are all modified to suit people with pain or injuries. She is fully qualified to design a specific exercise programme tailored to your needs. Modified Pilates means it is taught and performed at an appropriate level and safely while still being a highly effective way of exercising. Kirsten has also completed workshops in Pilates for Gym Goers, Horse-Riders and Golfers.

The Pilates classes have a small number of people in them and this allows the instructor to help you with technique and positioning.
